Craig Roberts

Private Wealth Adviser

When Craig Roberts recently completed his Masters in Financial Planning and won the Gwen Fletcher Award for topping his CFP class, he didn’t make a big fuss about it. Anyone who knows Craig, knows he’s a very humble guy.

His career journey actually started in accountancy. But he saw the light early on and made the switch to a new path with Elston. He began as a CSO, supporting Lynda McKie and her team, then threw himself into study so that he could gain the qualifications that would eventually move him into associate adviser and adviser roles.

All that study was hard work. But he had a terrific team of mentors around him. Plus, Elston gave him leave when he needed it, so he had the time to hit the books and attend exams. This support is part of a range of initiatives Elston has put in place over the years to help their people work towards a better future. It includes a parental leave scheme, confidential counselling and education assistance for professional qualifications.

Of course, we know that even with our support, study was stressful at times for Craig, especially when baby number one came into his life. However, he tells us our assistance did help to relieve at least some of the pressure.

It’s great to see Craig, and so many of his workmates enhancing their credentials and growing their careers as they step up to offer their clients more expert guidance. The better equipped our people are, the more they’re able to assist you plan for a better future.

Our advisers really do strive to be a CFP (Certified Financial Planner). It’s not a level that everyone in the industry aspires to. But at Elston we see it as a standard of professionalism that gives our clients confidence in their adviser.

Well, done Craig. We look forward to seeing your career grow with Elston for many years to come.
