About the role

A rare opportunity has been created for a talented analyst to work closely with a highly experienced Funds Management team based in Brisbane. Fundamentally, the role will require you to analyse quantitative portfolio data and analytic models as well conduct fundamental research on industry sectors and domestic equities securities. You will be required to derive intelligent conclusions for communication to our investors and advisors. To do so, you will be expected to collect, analyse and disseminate quantitative and qualitative information with a strong focus on attention to detail. This role is well suited to an individual looking to develop a long career in Funds Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fundamental research and companies predominantly in the S&P/ASX 100 index
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers to research, collect and analyse investment information
  • Maintain and interpret quantitative portfolio data and analytics models
  • Prepare and disseminate portfolio reporting and investment communications
  • Prepare material for investment committee meetings and maintain effective records

Key Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Investments, Commerce or Economics
  • CFA charterholder highly regarded
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Ability to identify problems and opportunities and provide innovative solutions
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, demonstrated proficiency in use of other systems
  • Sound knowledge of relevant data platform providers
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to teamwork
  • Experience in a similar position within research or financial services will be advantageous
